Cushman & Wakefield Appoints Automotive and Roadside Specialist
Lauren Joselyn • 17/07/2019
Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Tom Rigg to head its UK Automotive and Roadside business.
Rigg, who joins from Knight Frank, will be working across the UK to develop Cushman & Wakefield’s capital markets and occupational agency offer and to support its existing valuation business in the Automotive and Roadside sectors. The role will also involve expanding Cushman & Wakefield’s existing EMEA offering in these sectors.
Rigg has worked in the automotive sector for the past nine years, specialising in vehicle dealerships, fuel filling stations and other roadside real estate sub-sectors. His main focus has been advising car dealers and manufacturers, as well as providing occupier-driven consultancy advice to investors, developers and third-party lenders with an interest in the rapidly evolving auto retail industry and its supporting infrastructure.
Jon Leedham, International Partner and Head of Business Space Regions at Cushman & Wakefield, said: “I am delighted to welcome Tom on board at a time when the automotive and roadside sectors are providing many new opportunities. Working with our existing valuation team, Tom will be developing our agency and consultancy offering across both the investor and occupier markets.”
David Haynes, International Partner, responsible for UK specialist sectors at Cushman & Wakefield, added: “Tom joining our Automotive and Roadside team adds further strength to our Specialist Sectors business and follows the recruitment of Mark Clegg, Rufus Morgan and Lewis Smith into the Residential Investment team and Louella Alderson and Andrew Sowry to the Student Investment team.”
Tom Rigg added: “With the automotive market rarely out of the headlines, this is an exciting time for the sector. Changing trends in mobility, ownership, and fuels make it essential that property owners, occupiers and investors seek specialist advice to stay ahead of the curve and thrive when challenges are presented. I look forward to developing the Automotive service offer in the UK, supported by Cushman & Wakefield’s exceptional global platform.”
