About

James Summerhays is a corporate real estate specialist with over 15 years of experience advising occupiers across Australia. His core focus is on office accommodation strategy and tenant representation, supporting organisations with complex property portfolios to achieve efficient, cost-effective, and future-ready workplace outcomes.

James has developed strong relationships with landlords, developers, and tenants across all major markets, enabling him to deliver commercially sound advice backed by deep market insight. His experience spans all property sectors, with particular strength in leasing transactions and portfolio optimisation.

Previously, James spent six years as Regional Transaction Manager on the National Australia Bank (NAB) account, overseeing a portfolio of approximately 1,000 leased sites totalling over 600,000 sqm. He led the delivery of NAB’s national project-leasing program and played a key role in managing NAB’s major landlord relationships.

This role gave James extensive experience in managing diverse portfolios, coordinating high-volume transactions, and aligning property decisions with business objectives. Since joining Cushman & Wakefield’s Tenant Advisory Group, James has represented a range of international, national, and local occupiers. His understanding of occupier needs consistently delivers successful results, both financially and operationally, enhancing the long-term value and performance of his clients’ real estate outcomes.
