Profile
Mr. McVay joined Cushman & Wakefield in 1982. In addition to his brokerage experience, he led Cushman & Wakefield’s Mid-Atlantic Region from 1998 – 2004. Under his direction, new records were established in revenue, profitability and most importantly, client satisfaction.
During his tenure in brokerage, he has been involved in over twelve million square feet of office relocations and dispositions on behalf of both the public and private sector. The aggregate value of the transactions with his direct involvement exceed $3 billion and includes clients such as AT&T, Ernst & Young, Computer Associates, Sallie Mae, The Mills Corporation, Honeywell, IBM, PRC, GTE, Hughes, Saks Fifth Avenue, Raytheon, MCI, American Management Systems, Washington Gas, Symantec, EG&G, The Washington Post, and URS.
Awards & Associations
Since its inception, Mr. McVay has been one of the leading producers in C&W’s Washington, DC Metropolitan offices and the recipient of the Transaction of the Year on seven different occasions by the Washington Board of Realtors. In addition, he was twice honored as the No. 1 Broker in the entire Washington Metropolitan area. Mr. McVay graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana. He has continued his education by attending the M.I.T. Real Estate Masters Program and Wharton Executive MBA.
