About
Carl Gillen is a Director and Seattle and Portland Market Leader for Project & Development Services (PDS). With over 15 years of experience, Carl oversees the delivery of project management services to investor and occupier clients throughout the Pacific Northwest. Carl provides a wealth of local knowledge, industry relationships, and business acumen. As a strong communicator and creative problem solver, he is keenly
focused on client and team success. Carl is committed to a strong, inclusive, and integrated team environment to deliver successful and durable programs for clients: world-class facilities for world-class talent.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Carl worked as an Associate Director at Turner & Townsend in Seattle, WA where he oversaw over $1B in large-scale commercial construction projects. Notable clients include Apple where he led an on-site team of three staff and larger programmatic team of 30 professionals to deliver design and construction of their new $400M state-of-the-art, LEED Gold certified data center. Additionally working with Seattle Genetics, he managed a new department of 14 employees to oversee Seagen’s $750M project portfolio.
Carl brings additional experience with Corporate Real Estate clients serving as a Commercial Construction Project Manager at both WeWork and SECO Development, Inc. Carl has also delivered new construction, renovation, historical restoration, public art, and abatement projects for nonprofit theatres and museums in New York City. Before his professional real estate and construction career, Carl worked as a traditional blacksmith performing historical restoration and reproduction.
