Michael T. Mayer has over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate. He graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX and returned to his native Kansas City in 1986, where he accepted a position with the Cohen-Esrey Co. Mike joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2005 and in 2011 was announced as Managing Principal and in 2021 as Executive Managing Director.

Michael T. Mayer is Executive Managing Director for Cushman & Wakefield, a position he achieved after more than 35 years of work in the commercial real estate industry including more than a decade as Managing Principal of the Kansas City office. For more than two decades, Mike has been one of the most active producers in the Kansas City office market, having handled some of the largest leasing transactions on both the tenant and landlord side as well as being a part of the highest-profile investment transactions in the market’s history. Mike has worked with both local and institutional ownership groups, along with tenants in the financial services, engineering, insurance, and legal sectors. Mike has extensive experience representing tenants and landlords, and has negotiated leases in excess of $1.8 billion.
