About
Raymond Murray is employed with the firm of Cushman & Wakefield of Long Island, Inc. in the Dispute Analysis & Litigation Support Practice (DALS) and the Appraisal Management Group, within Valuation & Advisory. Mr. Murray joined Cushman & Wakefield of Long Island, Inc. in 2003. He has been involved in the commercial real estate industry for over 30 years.
At Cushman & Wakefield, Mr. Murray has been responsible for the preparation of appraisal reports, rebuttal reports, and damages analyses in his role within the DALS Practice, as well as appraisal reviews associated with his membership in the Appraisal Management Group. He has experience appraising and reviewing appraisals on a wide variety of property types and real property interests including office buildings, shopping centers, apartment buildings, residential subdivisions, storage and distribution facilities, heavy industrial plants, golf courses and country clubs, marinas, wetlands, adult homes, hotels, environmentally impaired properties, leaseholds, leased fee estates, life estates, and remainderman interests. In addition to working in the New York Metropolitan area, Mr. Murray’s experience includes a variety of property types throughout the United States.
Mr. Murray has prepared damages models for situations involving matters such as breaches of contract, construction defects, and construction delays. Breach of contract analyses have included litigation related to co-tenancy agreements for retail properties, lender liability, and management/ leasing deficiencies.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Mr. Murray was employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Manager of the Real Estate Valuation and Consulting Practice from 2000 to 2003. He was employed by Marchitelli Barnes & Company, Inc. from 1992 to 2000 as a staff appraiser, and prior to that he was employed by Cushman & Wakefield of Long Island, Inc. as a staff appraiser from 1985 to 1988 and as a commercial real estate salesperson from 1988 to 1992. Through his experience as a salesperson responsible for landlord representation of several large office complexes, Mr. Murray became intimately familiar with the lease-up and management process of speculative properties. As a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, specializing in the analysis of investment grade office properties, as well as his prior employment at Marchitelli Barnes & Company, he has coordinated portfolio valuations in New Jersey, Westchester County, and on Long Island.
