Mr. Helm’s real estate experience spans over thirty years and includes the analysis of regional malls, lifestyle centers, outlet centers, neighborhood/community retail centers, free-standing retail (grocery, theaters, fitness, pharmacy, net lease), banks, day-care facilities, convenience stores, restaurants, parking garages and several specialty uses. His appraisals and consultations have been in conjunction with review & consultation, real estate portfolio valuations, internal planning, financing, and sale-leasebacks.

Mr. Helm is actively involved in the Retail Practice Group, the largest specialty group in the firm, and is the Midwest leader. Mr. Helm is also one of a select few that further specialize in regional mall valuations. Notable valuations include: Oakbrook Mall, Woodfield Mall, the Chicago Premium Outlets, and Mall of America. Mr. Helm is a Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) and is also a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).

Affiliations

• Mr. Helm was awarded the Cushman & Wakefield 2012 & 2013 Achievement Award as the “Top Valuation & Advisory Producer” for the Midwest Region.

• On the international level, Mr. Helm holds the MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) designation.

• Designated Member, Appraisal Institute (MAI)

• As of the current date, Thomas Helm, MAI has completed the requirements of the continuing education program of the Appraisal Institute.

Assignments

• Mr. Helm has worked on numerous large-scale projects including Water Tower (Chicago), Oak Brook Mall (Oak Brook) and the Fashion Outlets of Chicago (Rosemont).
