Mr. Rando serves as Executive Director within the Valuation & Advisory group of Cushman & Wakefield (C&W). Mr. Rando developed a mature practice, wherein he was responsible for all operations of the Houston office for 20+ years. Currently, a more regional management structure yields economies of operations as the practice has reached a critical level. In 2023, Mr. Rando supports the efforts of the Houston office as directed by the regional management team. In addition to directing the office building specialty practice and co-directing the industrial specialty practice, Mr. Rando is also a member of the Dispute and Litigation Support (DALS) specialty practice and has testified (in depositions or in court) as an export witness over the past 20+ years.

Prior to joining C&W in 2000, Mr. Rando was a senior manager in the Houston office of Arthur Andersen LLP, wherein he co-managed a staff of 30 appraisers and coordinated the valuation and due diligence sectors, with an emphasis on institutional real estate owners, such as pension funds, corporate real estate owners, and major conduit lenders. Mr. Rando was also responsible for much of the staff and system development. Before joining Arthur Andersen, his early career was with Trahan & Partners, where he helped to grow the firm from five appraisers to a nationally recognized organization with multiple offices and more than 25 employees.

During his nearly 40-year career, Mr. Rando has managed and reviewed thousands of pension fund, CMBS (commercial mortgage-backed securities), estate, bank, and corporate appraisal and consulting engagements.

General experience includes valuation assignments of the following property types: automobile dealerships, bond-financed apartments, community & neighborhood centers, condo conversions, development & investment, garden style, mid-rise & hi-rise apartments, joint venture, land leasehold/leased fee interests, LIHTC, HUD, FNMA & Freddie Mac, limited partnership interests, major CBD and suburban office, major hotels, other undivided interests, power & discount centers, R&D, warehouse & industrial facilities, regional & super-regional malls, resort & recreational properties, special purpose properties, service station and c-stores, and specialty retail.
