Sacramento is amid a Downtown renaissance. The completion of the Golden1 Center in the urban core has revitalized the region resulting in billions or dollars of new development and significant increases in lease rates and property values. The exciting activity in the Central Business District along with a low-cost yet high quality of life is drawing new residents to the region. An average of 13,000 new residents have relocated to Sacramento every year from 2010 to 2018.
In addition to the activity in the core, several new companies are expanding into the market. In the last two years three major companies have either entered or expanded in the region. Centene selected Sacramento for its second headquarters and is currently under construction for 517,000 square foot phase one. Also, Penumbra recently sign a 160,000 sf lease to expand their operation into the region with further plans for a nearby build-to-suit.
