Located in Charlotte, NC, Ms. Whitaker is a Regional Partner and a member of the Senior Housing/Healthcare Practice Group for Cushman & Wakefield Valuation & Advisory. In 1994 Ms. Whitaker entered the real estate business as a broker. During her tenure as a broker, she was active in the Charlotte Board of Realtors including election to the Board of Directors and chairmanship of the Charitable Foundation. In 1997 she began appraising commercial real estate and specialized in Senior Housing/Healthcare properties. She worked for Fred H. Beck & Associates as a Senior Staff Appraiser with emphasis on senior housing assignments. As a specialist appraiser, Ms. Whitaker completed hundreds of senior housing/healthcare appraisal and consultation assignments and coordinated the completion of portfolio projects. In 2003 Ms. Whitaker joined Cushman & Wakefield of Georgia, Inc. as a Senior Appraiser in the Senior Housing/Healthcare group. In January 2007 Ms. Whitaker was promoted to Director. In January 2008 Ms. Whitaker was promoted to Managing Director and Co-Leader of the Senior Housing/Healthcare group.

Appraisal and consultation assignments completed include commercial properties with a strong emphasis on Senior Housing/Healthcare properties, for which Ms. Whitaker has over sixteen years’ appraisal experience. Completed assignments include continuing care retirement communities (for-profit and not-for-profit), independent living facilities, assisted living, Alzheimer’s/dementia/memory care facilities and nursing homes. Valuations include proposed, partially completed, renovated and existing properties, from single properties to large portfolio assignments. Consultation assignments include portfolio work performing operational reviews of existing properties, as well as market and feasibility analysis regarding proposed and existing properties. Ms. Whitaker is a HUD approved appraiser and has completed HUD market study and appraisal assignments under both HUD MAP Section 232 and HUD LEAN including proposed and existing senior housing/healthcare properties.
