Profile
Robert J. Giglio joined C&W in 1997, primarily to represent clients in New York; and, on a national and global scale, as a single point of contact for strategic planning and transaction services. Since then, he has been responsible for more than 12 million square feet of leases and build-to-suits globally; and, manages his own team of senior brokers.
With Mr. Giglio’s background as an attorney, he has strong negotiating and organizational skills and an added legal understanding of leasing and sales contracts.
Prior to joining C&W, Mr. Giglio served as Senior Managing Director with The Galbreath Company (Galbreath). His responsibilities included global tenant representation and local building leasing agencies. Prior to joining Galbreath, Mr. Giglio worked as a commercial real estate broker and Senior Consultant for Newmark Real Estates Services and served on its Executive Committee.
Among Mr. Giglio’s highest achievements is his current appointment as Account Manager for The City of New York’s Department of Citywide Administrative Services (“DCAS”), where he manages a 9 member team responsible for over 11 million sf of City leases. In 2017 alone Mr. Giglio was responsible for closing over 1 million sf of leases for NYC agencies.

Assignments
- Among national and global accounts represented are The Nielsen Companies (Nielsen) (f.k.a. VNU, Inc.) where, for 13 years, Mr. Giglio was responsible for transaction management in 136 cities in North America, totaling 4 million sf.; and, 122 cities in Latin America totaling 500,000 sf. He also coordinated Nielsen’s Asia Pacific transactions.
- The largest lease transaction in an existing building in New York City in 1999, 465,000 sf for VNU, Inc., which was nominated for New York City’s Most Ingenious Deal of the Year Award. Since then, Mr. Giglio expanded Nielsen’s occupancy at this location to almost twice the initial size.
- Other significant transactions include: Nielsen Media Research’s 600,000 sf. build-to-suit regional headquarters in Dunedin, FL, which included a complex sale/leaseback with Verizon/Teachers; and, ACNielsen’s 200,000 sf regional headquarters in Schaumburg, IL, both qualifying for Deal of the Year in their respective regions.
- National accounts included IPSOS, N.A., where his responsibilities included setting-up and coordinating a national lease administration program; and, providing transaction management services for the North American portfolio consisting of 42 locations and 500,000 sf.
