This new home is a game-changer for Garrett and his family. The Lennar NEXT GEN home is specifically designed for multigenerational living and includes a variety of customizations to be convenient, comfortable and accessible for Lt. Spears. It also features a full private suite, connected through a dual access door, with its own entrance, kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. The unique floorplan will help Lt. Spears’ caregivers, his mother and stepfather, more readily provide care for the injured veteran, while still allowing him a sense of independence.
On July 23, team members from Cushman & Wakefield, Operation FINALLY HOME and Lennar joined the Spears family and members of the San Antonio community for the ribbon cutting and home dedication, when Lt. Spears had the chance to tour the completed home for the first time.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Logistics & Industrial Services group has been closely involved in Operation FINALLY HOME’s homebuilding project for Lt. Spears since 2018, when the team helped to raise more than $100,000 to fund construction. The firm has worked with Operation FINALLY HOME on other projects since 2014, raising more than $180,000 for the organization in total.
Cushman & Wakefield’s partnership with Operation FINALLY HOME is just part of the firm’s commitment to veteran causes. Through the Veterans Initiative Program, the firm works to find challenging and rewarding career opportunities for veterans. Cushman & Wakefield actively partners with Hiring Our Heroes and the Corporate Fellowship Program, which provides veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses with training and hands-on experience in the civilian workforce.
Thank you again to everyone who helped make this great day possible!
