Kidsave Los Angeles

Kidsave is a nonprofit organization that advocates for the adoption of foster youth with a mission of creating change so that children to be adopted grow up in families and connected to caring adults.

“Last month’s Gala was a huge success and the perfect vehicle to support foster youth,” Mitchell asserts. “The Kidsave team produced a powerful virtual event that streamed live on YouTube on July 23th. Additionally, Cushman & Wakefield hosted our own virtual ‘green room’ to hold separate chats during the Gala”.

It is reported that 25% of all foster kids become homeless in adulthood, so time is of the essence to help support these foster youth. Kidsave’s mission to advocate placing kids in a loving home with families before the legal age deadline is a critical step in supporting their futures. Furthermore, approximately 90% of Kidsave’s youth are Hispanic and African American.

Kidsave Los AngelesMitchell, who also leads Cushman & Wakefield’s Financial Advisory in the US, and his colleagues also helped fundraise over $5,000 in just a few weeks leading up to the event. He commented, “I am delighted that our Financial Advisory group rallied together in support of this remarkable organization and cause.”

A special moment at this year’s Kidsave Gala was also the honoring of Mark Green who was the recipient of the organization’s Andrew Lei Memorial Volunteer award. Mark spearheaded a campaign that raised a total of nearly $200,000 through his annual ‘Hike with you Heart’ over the last five years. Continuing his mission, Mark will once again host this wonderful hike on November 7th (contingent on local reopening due to the pandemic). Mark serves as the Global V.P. of Finance for KARL STORZ Industrial-America, Inc. in El Segundo, a leading global manufacturer and distributor of endoscopes headquartered in Germany.

Mitchell commented, “It was truly a privilege to take part in honoring Mark, who is also my friend, at this year’s Gala for his incredible contribution and commitment to help make a difference in the lives of so many children.”

We encourage anyone interested and able to register for the November Kidsave ‘Hike with Your Heart’ event in the Los Angeles area as it may be permitted. Please visit kidsave.org for details.
