Mr. Ruthman joined Cushman & Wakefield as an Associate Director in 2022. He began his real estate career in Chicago in 1987 where he appraised residential properties. In order to make the transition to commercial property appraisal, he completed the Master of Science in Real Estate Program at New York University in 1992 and transitioned to commercial property appraisals. Mr. Ruthman specialized in appraising high end cooperatives for their underlying mortgages in the greater New York area until 2000.
In 2000, Mr. Ruthman joined a firm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida specializing in Right-Of-Way work completed both for Florida Department of Transportation and some property owner work. After surviving two hurricanes, Mr. Ruthman again relocated to Phoenix, Arizona. In Arizona, Mr. Ruthman gained experience appraising a variety of property types including subdivisions, office/warehouses, vacant land and multifamily properties.
In 2013, Mr. Ruthman made his last move to Seattle where he specializes in appraising proposed multifamily projects, retail and industrial properties.
