Raleigh-Durham’s labor market continued to grow through the end of 2022. By year-end 2022, Raleigh-Durham recorded 21.4% job growth since May 2020, outperforming the U.S. growth rate of 11.7%. Every industry sector expanded, though the most significant increases occurred in Leisure & Hospitality (80.2%), Trade, Transportation, & Utilities (23.5%), and Prof. & Business services (20.2%) bolstering the retail, office, and industrial sectors respectively. Raleigh-Durham maintains one of the most highly diversified workforces in the country, and this report provides a snapshot of its strong labor market and economic recovery.
